- Fans were expecting a showdown between Rick and The Governor

Fans of the hit zombie television series The Walking Dead were eagerly awaiting the season three finale, with the hope that they would finally get to see a showdown between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and The Governor (David Morrissey), with one of them coming out on top.

However, fans were left bitterly disappointed with the anticlimax of The Walking Dead season three finale, as there was no showdown, following weeks of build up. Instead, fans saw Rick take in all of the people from Woodbury, while The Governor seemed to lose the plot.
One disgruntled fan slammed the episode, saying, “What a joke, I’ve been waiting for weeks to finally see these two get it on and then the writers try to fob us off with that nonsense. I love The Walking Dead but the season three finale has seriously made me question the competence of the writers and whether the show has lost its way. Not happy!”

It will be interesting to see whether the writers address these issues with The Walking Dead season four premiere, which is set to return to AMC in October.
